Ann Romney

This is one for the ages! Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's lovely and tactful wife Ann recently advised in an interview that rather than live with multiple sclerosis, she wished "Couldn't I please just have cancer and die?" While I will make no claim to be the nicest person around, this just seems a bit off to me.
I've asked before, and I'll ask again - Is this chick serious? Again we have an instance of somebody in the public eye who does something ludicrous. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding her saying it, how many people do you think are out there who have dealt with the death of a family member or friend due to cancer who is saying "Oh yeah, Ann Romney is totally right. Dying of cancer is a better alternative to just about anything!"? I'm guessing not too many, what do you think?

So your father is an incredibly public figure, which means that your family is always in the public eye. What do you do? Well Al Gore's son, Al Gore III thought that it would be a good idea to load up on weed and pills and then get caught. This is the point at which you ask yourself - Is this guy serious?
Thousands of people do this kind of stuff every day and don't get caught. How do you get caught when you're constantly being watched? If your behavior is being scrutinized because a prominent figure in your family is, doesn't it make sense to keep a low profile? Maybe to not do insanely conspicuous illegal things? Come on douchebag, think before you act. As a side note, one of the perks of being famous is that even with multiple felony drug charges, if you're famous you can just go through treatment and eventually the charges will be dropped. How cool is that?

I know what you're thinking - Too easy. Everybody in the world has at some point asked -Is this guy serious? I just figured I'd get the ball rolling here. At the risk of being called "unpatriotic", I gotta say that this guy is some kind of special. The initiatives that President Bush has led as the leader of our country have not all been bad, but there are a few glaringly obvious issues, namely the war and nation building session that we've sunk billions and billions of dollars into despite the struggles the people in our own country.
It occurs to me that he's not really a douchebag, but that there are probably some better choices that Mr. President could be making with regards to the well-being of our country, with specific emphasis on education and healthcare. I won't go so far as to say that nation-building in Iraq is any less productive for children's education than Danicka McKellar's book about math, but he could definitely be doing something here. There will definitely be more to come over the next 15 months or so with regards to George bush.

You'll find that I'm a fairly politically minded person, so I occasionally yell back at my car radio when I'm listening to MPR. I cannot recall in recent months though having asked so many times "Is this guy serious?" as when I hear Alberto Gonzales lying to committees and stuttering and back-pedaling his way through the questions posed to him.
We've seen a recent trend in politics that I like to call "anti-accountability", and it would seem as though current attorney general Alberto Gonzales is the spokesperson and primary advocate of this trend. While I understand the obvious need to delegate tasks, this guy is trying to act like he had no responsibility in any of the actions of what is arguably the most powerful branch of our government. Come on Mr. Gonzales, man up and stop being a douchebag.

You may have heard about that tragic helicopter crash in Phoenix, AZ. It occurred as two news helicopters were covering a high speed chase through the city. My heart goes out to the victims’ families; this has to be incredibly difficult for them. In addition, it appears the man running from the police is an out-and-out douchebag and I feel no sympathy towards his claims of ‘not knowing what was going on’. Now, with that out of the way. . .
What the hell is Phoenix police Chief Jack Harris thinking when he makes the comment that “There is a possibility Jones could also face charges related to the deaths of the news crews” to media outlets? After some research, I found that under Arizona law, “a person who commits certain felonies can be charged with murder if a death results from the commission of the crime.” Okay, it’s on the books, but is Chief Jack Harris really serious?
If this guy is charged for the deaths of the chopper crews, then charge every lard laden couch potato who immediately turned to the news channel to watch the chase. They created the demand for the news crews to be in the air. Why aren’t they culpable?
Stay tuned, I’ll be following this story/outrage as it develops.

We first published this article in September of 2007. Updated article below.
Okay, this is absolutely ridiculous. A rapper (50 Cent, known in the Ebonic community as fittysent) has weighed in on the political scene. Now while I'm not saying he is in no way qualified to 'endorse' a candidate, I'm saying that HE IS IN NO WAY QUALIFIED TO ENDORSE A CANDIDATE. I can't quite figure out why I, or anyone else, would care who a former crack-cocaine dealer was endorsing for president. For crying out loud, he's the personification of what's wrong with the inner-city/low socioeconomic community. Wonder if that's why he's endorsing a Democrat?
But it goes farther then that. Obama landed on the cover of Vibe magazine. He's also met with rapper Ludicrous (I think that's a fitting name for a 'role model' who raps about drugs, whores, and murder). Why would a political candidate be caught dead near these social degenerates? Granted, they're rich, so they're smart, but they're still contributing to the degeneration of black society. As a politician, would YOU want your name attached to these screw-ups?
UPDATE:
The political nobody has switched allegiances apparently. "I heard Obama speak," said the rapper. "He hit me with that he-just-got-done-watching-'Malcolm X,' and I swear to God, I'm like, 'Yo, Obama!' "He threw his fist in the air. "I'm Obama to the end now, baby!"
All right, yeah, Shy-Town, *throws Obama gang signs*. Give me a break? Unless he's telling me how to bang whores or sell drugs, I don't listen to anything this pinhead says.
No one has been able to convince me in the past few months that 50 Cent's political views matter. Please, explain to me why I should care what this guy says? His contribution to the black community is to encourage young blacks to be gangsters, pimps, pushers, and whores. He's aligning himself with Obama? I'm sure Obama is happy perplexed to have the endorsement though.
