In recent news in the world of "people you forgot existed", talk-show host Montel Williams is spending his time apologizing for comments made on Friday to a high school student. In Savannah to promote a program that provides free prescription drugs to poor people, Williams ended an interview abruptly because he didn't like a question that was asked regarding whether or not pharmaceutical companies would continue to do the work they are doing if their profit was cut in to.
Returning to the hotel where Williams was staying, Savannah Morning-News reporters were confronted by Williams. His target - Courtney Scott, a high school student who is an intern with the Savannah Morning-News. Witnesses report that Williams and a body guard approached the student, screaming "Don't look at me like that. Do you know who I am? I'm a big star, and I can look you up, find where you live and blow you up." Williams apologized, saying that he thought the reporters returned because of the comments he made initially when he cancelled the interview. When I saw this, I couldn't help but wonder - Montel Williams is still alive?

Dr. Jan Adams – On Air to say he can’t be on the air.
We've covered a lot of people on the site in the past few months. Athletes, Celebrities, Politicians, Every day people, and more. Today we are adding "Doctors" to the list, with Dr. Jan Adams for walking off of the air on the Larry King Show. The Plastic Surgeon who has been under intense scrutiny after Kanye West's mother passed away surrounding an operation Dr. Adams had been performing. Interestingly enough, the interview almost didn't happen at all because of airline delays, which is a bit perplexing.
Dr. Adam's claims to have received a letter from the West family asking him not to do the Larry King Show, so rather than not do it, he actually flew out, and went on the air to say he was asked not to do it. How sick is that? Now to be honest, I'm not a Larry King fan to begin with. The man and his flatulence annoy me, but I still respect the guy as an industry giant, and wouldn't slight him by doing something as ridiculous as taking my mic out on stage, and walking off.

Only in Iowa – Woman tries to sell breastmilk.
With much controversy surrounding breastfeeding in public, Iowa woman Martha Heller thought she would help people with a solution - She took an ad out in the local paper to try to sell 100 ounces of her breast milk for $200. She apparently has a stockpile of breastmilk in her freezer, as she's been pumping away since August. While she does donate the milk now, the 100 ounces in question were pumped before the screening process, and so cannot be donated.
There are no laws about selling breastmilk, but the Iowa department of health does advise against it. Shockingly, Martha advised that she has not received any legitimate inquiries regarding the sale of her delicious lactate-juice... Now I would be lying if I said I wasn't a tiny bet perturbed/confused when I read the story from FoxNews.com, because I don't understand what possible motive somebody would have in buying breastmilk from somebody for non deviant purposes. If they won't take it at the donation clinic, why would a random mother buy it to give to her children? Pretty weird.

It's not very often that you will catch me speechless, but I'm pretty close when it comes to the story of middle school teacher Kelsey Peterson's relationship with a 13 year old male student. The Associated Press reported today that Kelsey Peterson has been arrested, while 13 year old Fernando Rodriguez will stay in Mexico. I read about this story initially last week when it was posted on the Kearny Hub website, and was quite perturbed at the time. It turns out that for some reason, this 25 year old woman thought it was okay to engage in a sexual relationship with a middle school student. While in most cases it does "take two to tango", if I would have been lead to believe at the age of 13 that I could have had sex with a teacher, I would have been 'all over it', so to speak.
While there are no less than half-a-dozen things we could attribute to enjoying a causal relationship with problems like this (the primary being an underfunded school system), this really just seems to boil down to a crappy teacher. I'm no moral authority, but it's even simpler than common sense that screwing middle school kids is wrong under any circumstance. How are kids supposed to be able to trust teachers when these are the kinds of examples being set? I really just don't get it.

I'm like most people when it comes to reading the paper. I check the sports page, take a quick peek at the business section, and then flip to the classifieds to see if there are any babies for sale. Okay, I made that last part up, but Yue Fan Chau of New York was arrested for trying to sell her baby outside a hospital in Downtown New York to an undercover police officer. She reportedly handed over the baby after receiving $5,000 in cash and a $20,000 check.
As unfortunate as it is that this woman was destitute, selling a baby falls outside of even the gray area when it comes to what's right and wrong. After her boyfriend returned to China, Yue Fan Chau thought she had no other options and so opted to try to sell her baby. What's perhaps most unfortunate about this case though is that the child will probably not be much better off in state custody than with a mother like Yue Fan Chau. Pretty sad if you ask me!

Victory came today for Louise Ogborn, 21, who sued fast-food giant McDonalds for failing to warn employees about a hoaxer. And the hoax? Apparently in April of 2004, then 18 year old Louise Ogborn was "forced" to strip after a man called the store, claiming to be investigating a theft. Video was captured of Louise Ogborn nude, performing sexual acts on herself and the boyfriend of an assistant manager who worked there. When asked why she didn't just leave, she answered that "I was scared, and I was petrified. I didn't know what was going to happen. I didn't know if this was my last day on Earth."
What kind of jury awarded this woman 5.5 million dollars in damages? We're talking about a dumb 18 year old girl who stripped butt-naked, and played with herself while working at McDonalds. She performed sexual acts on the boyfriend of an assistant manager, and completely degraded herself. Why? Because somebody called and claimed to be investigating a theft? There is no argument that can be made that would persuade me that this woman was a victim of anything other than her own ignorance! America is going to go even further down the crapper if we keep rewarding ignorance. Are we ever going to stop this?

So, I'm cruising along on the Net and come across this guy, with a question next to his picture, "Did big powerball win cost him everything?" The answer is no. This guy is complaining about all of his family problems, says he doesn't have any friends, and how hard things have gotten since the lottery win. I don't feel that bad since the 93 million dollars probably works pretty well to soak up those tears.
I just think it's ludicrous for some one to complain that he has to go through hardships that a lot of people go through and at the same time blame it on money. I've had some tragedies happen in my life and you better believe that it would have been easier on me if I had 93 million dollars to counsel me through the tough times. This story brings one word to mind.

This is not a huge story, but I still feel that it should get some time on the site. This man is a revered pastor who runs a boot camp for troubled teens in Texas. Upon thinking of this, I figured that it would help kids with their problems through the love of Christ. Of course there will be some discipline and physicality, but when one of the kids gets an attitude, I would just assume that they had explained to them that Jesus walked alone in the desert for a while and that running morning PT isn't really that bad. Mr. Flowers, though, prefers the old testament. He dragged a fifteen year old girl behind his van for failure to not run.
