Britney Spears – Can it get any worse?
I almost feel like it's beating a dead horse to write about Britney Spears, but I just cannot get over the fact that she is spiraling further and further into the inevitable abyss she'll end up in before eventually taking her own life. Really, how far can she possibly fall? In a whirlwind of events last week police were called to intervene at Britney's house when she refused to relinquish custody of her children when Kevin Federline attempted to pick them up. Britney was taken to the hospital by ambulance where she was held for observation, and because she was reportedly under the influence of something that police declined to comment on.
After all of this happened, K-Fed's attorneys were in court bright and early the next morning fighting to have Britney's limited custody taken away so that she could not see her children at all. Awkwardly enough, Britney's own attorneys (who filed a motion to be released as counsel) were there to fight it, but lost the battle. Good old Dr. Phil (post on him coming next) was there with Britney and as the attention whore that he is released comments to the media talking about how badly Britney needed help. After this confluence events I think it's pretty safe to say that Britney has hit rock bottom. Next step? Suicide.

Jamie Lynn Spears – Following in Big Sister’s footsteps!
Britney Spears has been called a lot of things in recent years, with trainwreck being the new buzzword surrounding the once-famous bubblegum popstar. Younger sister Jamie Lynn, on the other hand, has managed to keep out of the public eye for the most part when it comes to scandal. A 16 year old teen star on the Nickelodeon network now, Jamie Lynn Spears has recently announced that she was pregnant! (In a shocking move, mom Lynn Spears delayed the publishing of her book on parenting!)
Now the reason this falls under the "Is This Guy Serious?" umbrella, is because Jamie Lynn Spears has a shining example of exactly how not to lead your life, but for some reason it looks like Jamie Lynn is trying to do exactly what her big sister did, just a bit sooner. Maybe she felt like there were no expectations of her, or that she couldn't possibly end up being more of a screwup than Britney, but given the drama surrounding the family in it's entirety this doesn't seem like good news. It's not like it's incredibly uncommon for a 16 year old to get pregnant, but when you and your family are under heavy scrutiny all the time it seems like it would be a bit easier to make the decision to have save sex. I guess that's just me though...

Apparently insiders are saying that Britney Spears will lose custody of her children at least temporarily today. Normally I'd be screaming 'YEA!' at the prospect of an apparently unfit parent losing custody, but I've got to look at the alternative: K-Fed. Talk about kids who never had a chance to succeed from the moment they emerged from the womb.
During a custody hearing, Spears' former bodyguard accused the harlot of having "issues of nudity and drug use" since she returned from rehab. Reports of a planned "hit" on Federline have also emerged, definitely not helping the singer's cause. Tony Barretto, the ex-body guard, says he became concerned after watching Spears with her children. Two things in his favor in my book: He is a father of small children himself, and because his business is keeping people safe, I'm more inclined to view his concern for a child's safety as realistic.
Regardless of how this turns out, I'm sure the kids are screwed. How can they hope to have a decent outlook on life with these two morons as parents? Stars' children have a hard enough time as it is keeping a good head on their shoulders without their parents lousing it up even more. These two individuals need to just fade away, and let a loving, caring family raise their children. Please, think of the children!

I swore to myself I wasn't going to do it, that I would not put Britney on the site for her involvement with the VMAs. I caught it, I was never a big fan, but I didn't see much wrong. For a woman now in her twenties who has had two children in the past few years, I thought she looked pretty darn good. Of course I can't critique the performance because I wouldn't know Britney at the top of her game from the drunk asian girl who sang "Toxic" at the bar Tuesday night, but I don't see what the big deal was.
What I do take issue with are Britney's quotes regarding the performance. After the show she broke down Kanye-style and was crying and yelling, reportedly screaming "I looked like a fat pig!" over and over. We've obviously taken issue with female role-models, (guess whether or not any of the writers have a daughter) but for somebody who can barely be considered chubby to blow up over his or her body is just terrible form. Come on Britney, think about who is going to hear this stuff!

Oh Britney. The chick who I got so excited about in high school as I watched her dress like a school girl apologizing for "doing it again" is all grown up..and out, as it were.
