Randall Shesto II – Rockin’ the Cradle

Let me preface this mild rant by stating I have young daughter. Unless you have a young girl you're close to, you may not have the same visceral reaction I did when I read this news story about a heavy metal rocker who used his music as a way to ingratiate himself with young girls.
Randall Shesto II was convicted, for the SECOND time, of having sex with a 15 year old girl. I was astonished when I found he will only have to serve one month behind bars, then 5 years of probation. The judge also told Shesto that he cannot play in a band in public for the length of his probation. No doubt the judge thought that taking away Shesto's music was a stroke of genius; in my humble opinion Shesto should be castrated by both fathers of young girls he was with, then drawn and quartered using four Harleys ridden by the girls' parents. Just an opinion though.

First place, you don’t know what you are talking about. Yes, Randall Shesto, admitted to having consensal sex with a girl who claimed to be 18 in Sheboygan but was in fact almost 16. He admitted to what he did and paid a price. He did not admit to and has in fact always stated he was innocent of charges in Waukesha County. I sat through the whole trial and watched the girl change her story on three seperate occassions and watched her father tell a lie on the stand and he was caught by Shesto’s lawyer in that lie. Randall had solid alibis showing he could not be in two places at the same time- he plain didn’t do it. He was found guilty due to the whole “he did it before so he must have done it this time”. Wake up, justice is not blind- you are quilty until proven innocent, not the other way around. So until you know the whole story, you should keep your mouth shut.

It was her words against his. The judge (formerly ada) allowing the first case was prejudicial and that is why the jury was divided (deliberation 7 hours) and they finally came up with a compromised verdict. What if she was lying and now we have an innocent man in prison, his future gravely compromised because he will be a felon for the rest of his life? She is the one who wanted to go out with him and he said no. Rejection has created these situations before.
How many young men are in prison or labeled as felons because of little spoiled brats? (Remember the Duke case).

Interesting comment Deb. Unfortunately all accounts I’ve read say it was a fair trial, and he was proven guilty. Unless you were a jury, you have no clue whether it was a case of guilty until proven innocent. I suppose you also advocate statutory rape when you aren’t lambasting someone with ‘facts’ only you could know, since you sat through the trial. Point me to a trust-worthy news source that shares any of your ‘facts’ and I may write a post about the judge in that case (and jury). Until then, I’m sure we have other posts on our site that will piss you off just as much. Happy reading!
